Longs, SC (December 23, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a major crash on Monday, December 22, in the Longs community involving vehicle entrapment and an overturned car.

According to dispatch information, Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR) was called to the area of Highway 90 and Bombing Range Road at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, responders found a crash scene where one of the involved vehicles had overturned, trapping at least one occupant inside. Fire rescue crews deployed specialized extrication equipment to safely free those involved.

Two individuals were assessed at the scene and transported to a local hospital with injuries. Officials have not released details regarding the severity of those injuries.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

We extend our sincere wishes for a full recovery to those injured in this accident.

Car Accidents in the Longs Community

Highway 90 is a heavily traveled roadway in the Longs area, serving local residents, commercial drivers, and visitors traveling between inland communities and the coast.

Crashes along this corridor can be especially dangerous due to higher speed limits, limited lighting in some areas, and frequent intersections such as Bombing Range Road. When vehicles overturn or occupants become trapped, the risk of serious injury increases significantly.

Entrapment incidents often indicate a high-impact collision, requiring specialized rescue operations that can delay medical treatment. Even when injuries are not immediately apparent, victims may later experience complications such as internal injuries, head trauma, or musculoskeletal damage. Prompt medical evaluation and follow-up care are critical after these types of crashes.

Under South Carolina law, individuals injured in motor vehicle accidents may have the right to pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering, and other related losses.

Accidents involving complex scenes, multiple agencies, or roadway hazards can make determining fault more challenging, particularly when insurance companies dispute liability.
